My work experience has showed me other paths not just photography, it has shown me how graphic design and other medias work together. It has made me so proud to be able to look at my work on the table or outside a building, this whole experience has pushed my focus and my desire of photography further. The theory of my work has developed through my visual and opinion of my work, looking up other companies and seeing what they advertise and how I can make the company better than others. The bonus of my position to other companies has been able to support the company quickly instead of waiting days for a response. I have dealt with reviews and phones calls with other companies this was important for me because it improved my confidence but also develops my understand of working with a variety of people. Throughout my work experience my approach to work has developed incredibly, I have become more focused but also faster with my work. At the beginning I was less confident and didn’t know if my work would be very good and I felt that I would be more of a pain to the company than a positive asset to them. Something that didn’t go well was communication, I have noticed you need to be strong and confident to get things sent to you or get work and sometimes you have to pester people to make sure they send you what they want. This is something I was weak on, I have always been scared to ask but I have realised now it is more important to ask and annoy the worker or customer than trying to work it out. My graphic design has developed more but is something I would like to focus on. The graphic side was a obvious down fall, I am much slower and less creative although being strong in photography meant I could spend more time on the hard stuff.
Being in the workplace meant if I had an idea I could straight away go and try it instead of waiting 3 days and then learning it was rubbish. I feel my work is the future of the creative industry, I believe the quality of general work will drop in the industry, because in the modern day of advertisement it is the amount and the speed you can put it out. If you look at the amount of active on live view on Instagram and Facebook and stories on Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram its more about getting it out there and the more is better. This is where I feel my work sits highly in the creative industry, peoples attention only lasts a few minutes then they are watching something else. Although I do see in the long run people will want more interaction and more quality so later on in the curative industry people will want more. Not just photos and messages all day but more and more focus and person finish to the work. If you look at the culture of today videos and photos last 24 hours and thats it, people are more focused on the moment of up to 10 seconds like snapchat, this is because the attention span of society has changed and it is much shorter and people want it easier. This is something I have noticed by working at the restaurant, people want the information fast but also easy to read, people like to know more but also whats going on. Looking at the amount of reality stars and programs shows how much people focus on other peoples live and I feel its the same for business. When thinking about my own career, it has developed massively over the last year but I clearly know where my career is heading. It will obvious follow the creative arts industry, I aim to become a freelance photographer but also selling my prints, then to progress in size and then be supported by graphic designers, videographers and other photographs. The idea is to the create the whole product for companies and support them to the fullest ability in the creative industry.
